Color Nook
Color nook is the e-book reader from Barnes and Noble and it is based on the Android platform. Its compact and peppy. With the Color NOOK you get a fantastic display, capacitive touch, longer battery life, various built-in features and Apps to improve your e-reading experience.
You also get an excellent e-reader that has Andriod’s solid web browser, Gallery photo viewer and video player, music player, Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Pandora internet radio, Chess. Crossword, Sudoku, NOOK friends and Email etc.
With dimensions of 8.1x5.0x0.48 inches and weight of 15.8 ounces, the NOOK color is slim, light and portable. It has a wide color screen of 7-inch with 16 million+ colors and a high resolution display of 1024x600, 169 PPI. With the full lamination process, there is reduced glare which helps you in reading it indoors and outdoors. It comes with a fast 800 MHz TI processor with 512 MB RAM.
Now nothing can stop you from going for a reading marathon because your Color Nook comes with a powerful rechargeable battery with which you can read up to 8 hours without having to recharge it. You can charge it from a wall outlet using the in-box Power Adapter and USB Cable. The NOOK Color is very reading friendly. It includes 6 typefaces and 6 font sizes, 3 margin settings and 3 line spacing options. There is an option that snaps to the publisher’s specified formatting settings. It even has an option of reading in portrait or landscape format. The reading settings are easy to access and can be changed while reading with an ease by tapping the center of the screen.
Here you also have the brightness slider, page number slider and table of contents. The free NOOK reading App syncs the last page you have read across your NOOK, smartphone or computer so that you can read what you love, anywhere you like. To bookmark a page you just have to tap the top right corner and to turn a page you can swipe forward and back or tap the left or right edge of the screen. Swiping across the bottom of the screen takes you to the previous screen.
Color NOOK supports CBZ, XLS, DOC, PPT, TXT, DOCM, XLSM, PPTM, PPSX, PPSM, DOCX, XLX, PPTX etc. You can load EPUB or PDF file types from your computer or micro SD card. You can watch videos in MP4 or Adobe Flash Player format. There is built-in mono speaker for playing audio files of MP3, MP4 and AAC, and the ‘Read to Me’ feature in the children’s books.
